Scarborough, McNeese, O'Brien & Kilkenny represents secured and unsecured creditors throughout the State of Oregon. The firm maintains a small yet effective foreclosure practice, allowing us to provide quality representation in such actions at a reasonable cost to the client. In appropriate circumstances we will represent creditors in pure collection matters, and the firm has adopted a detailed internal policy with regard to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
The firm often represents banks, credit unions and others in efforts to recover secured collateral. Additionally, we represent both secured and unsecured creditors and other parties having dealings with bankruptcy estates. We have at least one attorney admitted in all bankruptcy courts in Oregon in the event "relief from stay" is needed to enforce the rights of a client. We maintain a direct electronic link to practically every bankruptcy court in the country through a nationwide database (Pacer) for immediate access to detailed information on recent bankruptcy filings.
We recognize that on occasion a creditor client is required to defend against supposed violations of consumer protection or regulatory laws, and we are experienced in defending creditors in such disputes.
